We follow strict WPA guidelines and follow in the direction that the rest of the World takes in pool. Our games are competed on 9FT International tables and 7FT English tables, we adhere to the World Rules as laid down by the governing body.
Our current national games are 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-ball. We compete in international competitions and World events with spots allocated to us from the WPA via the Oceania Committee. These events have a high international profile and are streamed live with designated TV coverage.
The NZPA hold various tournaments throughout the year, which may be hosted by different member associations in the North and South Island.
We promote Junior pool, as they are our future. Many of our Juniors, male and female, also play in our open tournaments and have made a significant impact, there has also been growing success and personal accomplishments overseas.
Our tournaments are very successful and are based on a ranking system that shows the consistency of players and their achievements throughout the year.
This ranking system is updated by our registrar after each tournament, and promotes healthy competitiveness amongst our players to strive for their goals – as they can see their results based on their performance. These rankings form a fair basis for international selection.
